Penobscot County Cares (PCC) meets Thursday afternoon from 4:00-5:00. Meetings are held every other week to highlight and discuss issues related to three crises in our region: housing/homelessness, substance use disorders (SUD) & overdose deaths, and a rise in mental health disorders. Please join Thursday's community gathering using the Zoom link in this message. Everyone is welcome.
The agenda will include a continuing conversation about the unprecedented homelessness crisis as cold weather approaches… consideration will be given to efforts aimed at encouraging schools in Bangor and elsewhere to expand overdose awareness training and make Narcan readily accessible throughout all school buildings in case of emergencies.
As always, PCC meetings offer an opportunity for agencies and organizations to announce events, seek support, highlight services, make new connections and plan collaborations. Whether you've ever attended a PCC meeting or not, consider joining this Thursday. Matters of life and death are on the agenda. Thank you!
