Dignity First is proud to host a screening of Community First: A Home for the Homeless, a 65 minute documentary about the Community First! Village in Austin, TX. The village has taken a new and necessarily innovative approach to meet the needs of chronically unhoused people in the Austin area by recreating the lost family within a permanent, supportive community of tiny homes. Permanent housing, onsite mental health and recovery support integrated with intentional/missional neighbors, opportunities to earn dignified income, and substantial consistent involvement of volunteers combine to yield an 85% retention rate of formerly chronically unhoused people and the most inspiring story of the restoration of humanity. This is a film you don't want to miss!

A soup supper with vegan/allergen friendly options will be provided before the film. Following the screening, there will be opportunity to learn more about how Dignity First is replicating this model to meet the needs of our local unhoused neighbors.
