The Southern Maine Workers' Center is a grassroots organization committed to creating a people-powered, worker-led movement that improves the lives, working conditions, and terms of employment for working-class and poor people in Maine. Workers' Rights trainings are casual conversations catered to the issues most important to you, and are led by SMWC members and staff, many of whom have experience organizing in our own workplaces. Trainings will cover: your legal rights in the workplace and what you can do when they are violated; human rights and how we can take action to protect our rights beyond our legal rights; and the power of organizing.
